The Depot Cafe is located directly at the railroad crossing of appetite and nostalgia. Nestled inside the Milwaukee Road depot in South Cle Elum, the railroad atmosphere is genuine. Hailing back to the days when "The Beanery" was THE place for hungry engineers, conductors, and every sort of Milwaukee Road worker to satisfy a well earned appetite, the tradition lives on at the Depot Cafe.

The Depot Cafe opened its doors in June of 2006, heralding a renewed celebration of the Milwaukee Road. Inspiring nostalgia and introducing a new generation to the taste of history. The South Cle Elum Depot also houses a Milwaukee Road memorabilia museum, complete with a restored ticket booth and scale model railroad display. The grounds include an interpretive trail, and, as part of the Washington's Ironhorse State Park, is an excellent starting point or rest stop along the John Wayne Pioneer Trail.
